Description

Secure your bathroom panels, trims and general fixing work with Soudal Grip All Hybrid Polymer White 290ml. This is our recommended adhesive for our PVC bathroom wall panels because it is designed to bond to smooth, non porous surfaces, including PVCu and most plastics.

What Is the Best Adhesive for Bathroom Panels?

The best adhesive for PVC bathroom panels is a hybrid polymer adhesive because it can bond to smooth, non porous surfaces. Standard grab adhesives are often better suited to porous materials, while PVC panels have a smooth rear surface that needs a stronger, more suitable adhesive.

Unlike many standard grab adhesives, Grip All Hybrid Polymer does not rely on soaking into porous materials to create a strong bond. This matters when fitting PVC bathroom wall panels, as the rear of the panel is smooth and non porous. A normal adhesive may struggle to grip this type of surface properly, while a hybrid polymer adhesive is made for this kind of fixing job.

The flexible hybrid polymer formula creates a strong, reliable bond while remaining slightly flexible after curing. This helps absorb small amounts of movement between the wall and the panel, reducing the chance of the bond weakening over time.

Soudal Grip All Hybrid Polymer can be used on damp and humid surfaces, making it a strong choice for bathrooms, shower rooms, wet rooms and kitchens. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and bonds to a wide range of common building materials including wood, plasterboard, brick, stone, tiles, concrete, metal, PVCu and most plastics.

For best results when fitting bathroom panels, apply the adhesive in six inch circles across the rear of the panel before pressing it firmly onto the prepared wall surface.

Adhesive FAQs

What adhesive should I use for PVC bathroom wall panels?

We recommend using our ultra strong grab adhesive, which we use for installations ourselves.

Do I need both adhesive and sealant?

In most cases, yes. Adhesive is used to bond the panel to the wall, and sealant is used where a waterproof finish is needed.

Can I use silicone instead of adhesive?

We do not recommend using silicone instead of adhesive. Some installers do use it, but the product we recommend is an ultra strong grab adhesive, which we use for installations ourselves.

How many tubes of adhesive do I need per panel?

We recommend two tubes of adhesive per panel. This can vary depending on how flat the wall is. Uneven surfaces may require additional adhesive to achieve full contact. If you are unsure how much adhesive you need, contact our team and we will help you work it out.

How long should adhesive cure before using the shower?

As a general rule, you should allow around 24 hours before exposing the installation to water, unless the product instructions say otherwise.

Can panel adhesive be used on tiles?

Yes, provided the tiles are sound, clean and properly prepared before installation.

Can adhesive be used on plasterboard?

Yes, as long as the plasterboard is dry, secure and in good condition.

Why do you recommend a grab adhesive?

A strong grab adhesive helps achieve a secure bond and is the product we trust in our own installations.
